Dear Members and Friends,
By courtesy of the Salers Cattle Society of the United Kingdom, we are forwarding, as attachments herewith, copies of articles from their 2018 Journal.
These articles are news, in a 3 page article, from the International Salers Federation and a page from the Sommet de l’Élevage, Clermont-Ferrand, France.
It is exciting how Salers Associations from around the World and the Sommet, are joining together for the 2018 International World Conference and Tour next September/October.
These 2 Top Class Events, culminating in the 3 Days of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 3,4 and 5 October 2018, are ones that should not be missed.
The Sommet is Europe’s No. 1 Livestock Show with 2,000 animals, 1,500 exhibitors and 95,000 visitors.
This year Salers will be the Feature Beef Breed and presenting the 2018 National Salers Show, with more than 350 of the best French Salers Cattle being exhibited.
Leading up to the Sommet, the U.K. Salers Society is conducting a 5 day Tour from Stansted Airport (near London) to Clermont-Ferrand, for a Tour of the Medieval Village of Salers and a visit to Salers Farms and the Salers Breed’s Headquarters and Bull Test Station at Saint-Bonnet-de-Salers, then the 3 days at the Sommet.
The French Salers Association, Groupe Salers Evolution, is conducting a 10 day Tour commencing in Paris, travelling through the beautiful Autumn French Countryside to the historic City of Vichy, the medieval Village of Salers, Salers farms, the Salers Breed’s Headquarters and Bull Test Station, also to Clermont-Ferrand for the 3 days of the exciting Sommet Activities.

Of course, there will also be a number of international persons and individual Groups from many Countries travelling independently, to the Sommet.
For those readers who have not been to the Sommet before, they will be astounded and amazed at what the Sommet offers to International Visitors from so many Countries of the World and the facilities they have at Cournon, Clermont-Ferrand are absolutely marvellous.
The ISF 3 Yearly General Assembly Meeting will be held at the Sommet on the morning of Friday 5 October and followed in the afternoon, by the Salers Show Championships in the enclosed Zenith Centre which has facilities second to none.
The ISF will keep you informed during coming months.
Finally, herewith as an additional attachment, is a copy of the Sommet’s 2018 Advertising Feature, which will be circulated around the World, highlighted with French Salers Breeder Chloé and her Champion Cow, “Jicky” !
