Dear. Members and friends,
Greetings to all, l hope that this letter finds yourselves and families well.
Once again elections are looming and nomination forms are enclosed herewith. If you feel that you would like to contribute some time and energy into our association please by all means have somebody nominate you.
Our AGM and farm tour is to take place on the weekend of 16th November in Gippsland, Victoria. More details on this will be forthcoming , jot it in your diary and be part of it.
Jen and l are presently proof reading the magazine before it goes to print. The worst part of this is that by the time it is printed we have seen about enough of it.
A couple of new red homozyges polled bulls have become available to members.
Kbs genetics in France has semen from Cumbrian joker, a bull that was imported into France to start a polled program. You can view him by googling gie polled excellence,
Look at the polled elevage Salers in Normandie site.
He is a fullblood, and would be a larger frame score with slower maturing progeny than the bull below. However you can be certain that the French would have been very thorough in assertaining the bulls qualities. Pricing is variable depending on quantity and can be obtained on our web site.
The other bull, ggt red rock 136w is a purebred in Canada and has yet to be tested and collected. He is by the US champion black sire ggt heavy hitter out of a genesis cow. Genesis has proved to be one of the modern all time greats of the breed.
Red rocks breeding values in us and Canada put him in the top bracket for weaning &,yearling weights with milk also at the top of the list. Pricing is also variable.
One thing l will point out is that our initial order, with NZ being involved, is likely to be considerably cheaper than if you have a few straws sent at a later date if available.
You can place your orders with me for red rock and providing all goes ok should have semen by the end of the year.
You can also google this bull by getting up his name , then look at the second new trend bull sale. Stats can be obtained off the US and Canadian Salers association web sites.
This will be the last correspondence from me for this term. I see that your association is in good stead now for moving forward and l would envisage that the councillors for the next term should be capable of moving it forward significantly.
All the best for the spring shows
Regards Steve
